Jasiri Program outline.
Collaborative Centre for Gender and Development (CCGD) is implementing a five-year scale-up of the COVID-19 Response and Resilience Program, an initiative supported by the Mastercard Foundation and delivered through a consortium of five organizations, Centre for Rights Education and Awareness (CREAW), Grassroots Organizations Operating Together in Sisterhood
(GROOTS), Advocates for Social Change Kenya (ADSOCK) and Centre for Domestic Training and Development (CDTD). The program is being implemented across 16 counties, with CCGD focusing on Samburu, Baringo, Mandera, Kwale, Busia, and Kajiado. Our primary target population includes the most at-risk girls and young women—particularly survivors of gender-based violence—aged 16 to 35 years.
The Jasiri Program focuses on promoting gender economic empowerment and financial inclusion, aiming to overcome the unique challenges faced by young women and girls who are at risk of survivors of GBV in accessing financial services, engaging in economic activities, attaining economic independence and address the ecosystem of GBV.
The program is anchored on the following 3 pillars:
- Access to Inclusive Finance Pillar
- Skilling of GBV survivors.
- Support to the ecosystem
