We work closely with community skilling partners to provide inclusive and accessible training opportunities for adolescent girls and young women, particularly those who are survivors of gender-based violence. Our goal is to equip them with market-driven, transferable skills that open doors to meaningful employment or entrepreneurship.

This is through:

  1. Shelters: We collaborate with shelters to provide skills training for survivors, either within the safety of the facility or as they transition back into their communities. This approach empowers them to rebuild confidence, achieve independence, and break free from the cycle of abuse.
  2. Community Centres: We work with local skilling centers to bring training opportunities closer to participants.
  3. Master Artisans: We collaborate with skilled professionals to equip participants with practical, hands-on expertise in their chosen trades.
  4. Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centres: We sponsor participants to TVETS to provide NITA accredited programs that enhance employability and career development.

Skilling Journey.

  1. Identification
We identify young women aged 16–35 who are survivors of GBV through our partnership with Women Rights Organizations in the GBV ecosystem, through the referral pathway, e.g safe shelters, community-based organizations, CHPs, paralegals and community champions, use of the toll-free lines (National GBV hotline HAK 1195) through referrals from the government and GBV service delivery institutions and CSOs.
  2. Screening and Life Skills Training
Participants are first screened to identify the skills they wish to pursue, followed by life skills training to build confidence, resilience, and essential soft skills. This foundation is complemented by Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) training before transitioning to technical skilling programs.
  3. Placement
We match participants with institutions that offer the skills they have chosen, ensuring alignment with their interests, strengths, and market demand—whether at shelters, community centers, with Master Artisans or TVET institutions.
  4. Transition to Work
Upon completion, we support participants in transitioning to the workforce through job placement, internships, or entrepreneurship opportunities, ensuring they are prepared to succeed.
